List of Record Stores in Toronto

While, the closing of Sam the Record Man signals the beginning of the end for CD sales, vinyl seems to be making a comeback. Not one to miss out on a trend I began looking for local record stores in Toronto and noticed that there doesn't seem to be a definitive directory anywhere. So here it is. I am currently in the process of verifying so let me know if I missed something. Given the fickle nature of the business I'm sure things will continue to change. (Note: vinyl/lps/records only)

A very good record store also is found in Kensington Market. Paradise Bound Music is at 270 Augusta Ave (one block west of Spadina and south of College). It is a favourite with people who collect and enjoy rare vinyl - urban, funk, jazz, rock, reggae, classical, folk - pretty much all genres.

Thanks for this list, much appreciated.

Paramusic on Dundas East, between Yonge and Church St, on the north side.

Penguin Music is no longer on Mutual. They moved onto Dundas West in Chinatown, and they either moved again or opened another store on Wellesley just West of Yonge Street, on the north side.

BMV on Bloor between Spadina and Bathurst (south side of the street) has a CD section in the basement. Really good prices too.

Sunrise stores now have a used section - at least the 2 stores on Yonge Street do. Good prices there too.

There is another store on College around Bathurst, can't remember the name.
